Course Information
Course Description
This course will provide new and aspiring teachers with resources, methodologies, ideas, and feedback to help them shape their own understanding of what it means to be a piano teacher.
The course is designed to encourage peer discussion, which will allow for necessary dialogue surrounding topics specific to new teachers, as well as current teaching practices.
Topics covered in this course include lesson books, teaching resources, teaching different age groups, teaching in exam systems, teaching online, teaching to practice and memorize, applying for teaching jobs, setting up student contracts, evaluating several payment methods, and more.
The course will be conducted via Zoom, where participants can freely speak to, share content with, and provide feedback for each other, regardless of location.

About Bronwyn Schuman
Bronwyn is a graduate from The Juilliard School in New York City, where she received her Master of Music in Collaborative Piano. She grew up in Calgary, where she completed her Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Arts in English at Ambrose University. While at Ambrose University, Bronwyn became the first and longest serving employee of Palliser Music!
Throughout her university education, Bronwyn has enjoyed a varied musical career of teaching, performing, writing, and participating in community outreach. Bronwyn is currently a Doctor of Music student in Collaborative Piano at McGill University.
